Free, open source, and entirely local

Every era of video, physically simulated.

Aesthetician turns modern video and audio into VHS, three-strip Technicolor, news film, dying broadcast signals, early web video, damaged tape, and hundreds of other historically grounded looks.

Download the desktop app with Python, FFmpeg, effects, and presets already bundled. No checkout, build tools, account, upload, or cloud render required.

Not a filter pack

The signal path is the look.

Each treatment models the artifacts of the physical or electronic process that made the original image and sound.

01

Real media behavior

Film grain, halation, gate weave, composite subcarriers, tape tracking, print screens, speaker response, and codec damage behave like their historical sources.

02

Live, adjustable previews

Browse by family or era, compare against the original, tune every parameter, save custom looks, and export several jobs at once.

03

Your media stays yours

Processing runs entirely on your computer. There is no account, upload, telemetry, subscription, or remote rendering service.

Open source

Use the app. Read the engine. Make your own era.

Aesthetician is MIT licensed, with a documented CLI and declarative preset system for repeatable or batch work.
